President Zhang Liyong

As President of COSCO Americas, Inc., Mr. Zhang Liyong has been with COSCO (China Ocean Shipping Group  Company) for more than 30 years.  Mr. Zhang contributed most of his career time to Penavico (China Ocean Shipping Agency), one of the major components of COSCO group, before he transferred to the United States in 1999.Mr. Zhang has been awarded for his achievements over the years, including Best Chief Executive Of The Year (1989 - Shanghai Municipal Government) and recipient of the Golden Globe Prize (1996 - Chinese Entrepreneur Association). 

Mr. Zhang is actively involved in social and community activities.  He is active in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, currently serving as President. 

Mr. Zhang is also an enthusiastic supporter of business related educational and academic programs.  Mr. Zhang received his bachelor's degree in International Maritime Transportation from Shanghai Maritime University in 1968.  He was further  awarded the title of Senior Economist.  A native of Shanhai, Mr. Zhang was born on July 19, 1945 in the eastern part of China.
